Okay! I am packing up to return to college for my very last semester. Over dinner, my parents and I discussed the state of the working world—which I hope to join for exactly one year after I graduate before going back to school. All over the country, young, idealistic, college-educated people like me are readjusting their visions of the future. No more daydreaming about the perfect apartment and perfect job in the perfect city. Perhaps this feeling is a little like being middle-aged and never married; you give up on the concept of destiny and settle for a more practical configuration.
